Thank You!
THANK YOU, to everyone who participated in our 4th of July celebration!!!
Despite the temperature, we had an awesome turnout. Fresh Start served over 350 people!!! I have been a part of planning 4th of July events for over 8 years and I can honestly say, this is the most volunteers I have ever seen, from setting up to tearing down!!! As has been said by many, Maywood Park rocks!!! A huge shout out to Nic Christie for being out “First Annual” Pie eating contest winner!!!
With the winner of the 50/50 raffle giving their 50% back, we were able to raise $380 for GAP. You don’t have to wait for a raffle or event to help out. Our own Fay and Mike Reynolds work diligently to help GAP and have for 2 plus years. If you would like to make a donation, of any kind, reach out to them, Mike is more than happy to come pick it up. The City of Maywood Park will be doing a food and warm clothing drive, to benefit GAP, Saturday November 4, 2023 (details to come).
Over the years, the Maywood Park volunteers T-shirts have become, not only a tradition, but a collectors item. I had no idea we would have so many awesome people step up and did not order enough, my sincerest apologies for that! If you volunteered and did not get a t-shirt, albeit after the fact, please send me your name and size and I will place another t-shirt order, to ensure you get one!!! I will be placing the order this Friday (7/7).
We found a couple of scooters, left on the berm. If you are missing one, please let me know, we may have it!!!
Our next city event will be National Night Out, Tuesday, August 1, 2023 6pm - 8pm at the north end of the berm. Come out and meet and greet those who serve and protect us! A quote from Sheriff Nicole Morrisey-O'Donnell, “We love Maywood Park, when is your next event, we want to be here”!
Again, THANK YOU to all who made our event such a success!!! If you volunteered and would like a T-shirt, please email me your name and size and I am more than happy to order one for you!!!
MAYWOOD PARK ROCKS!!!
