Your Voice Matters: Ambulance Service Plan Hearing, Oct. 29

Multnomah County is finalizing a new Ambulance Service Plan that will guide emergency medical response across the county for a decade or more. The proposal put forth has raised alarms with the small cities in East County.

At the Oct. 8 hearing, the County Board confirmed on the record that Maywood Park’s 8-minute response standard is protected. But the written plan still labels us “suburban” while the response map shows us in the urban zone. Our City Council (Resolution 352) is asking the County to fix that conflict and to preserve 8-minute standards for our East County neighbors (Fairview, Troutdale, Wood Village) as well.

Your City Council and staff are actively advocating on your behalf. There will be representation from the Maywood Park government at the next hearing on Oct. 29, 9:30 am at 501 SE Hawthorne, Portland.

You can help: submit written testimony at this link by Wednesday, October 28 by 4 pm, or testify in person (you must sign up at the link).

For more information, you can watch the prior board meetings on the Multnomah County Youtube Page. The ASP was discussed at the 9/24 and 10/8 meetings. The current proposed plan can be found here.
