Wireless Emergency Alert Test Tomorrow
WIRELESS EMERGENCY ALERT TEST TOMORROW (8/14)
Tomorrow (Thurs., Aug. 14 at 2PM) the Office of Emergency Management will be testing the Wireless Emergency Alert system!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
All cellphones in the county will receive the TEST alert.
A high-pitched tone + two vibrations
A message in English and Spanish.
If you get this alert, no action is required. Please don’t call 911, 211 or 311. It's only a test.
A small number of people in neighboring counties may also get the alert.
The scheduled test comes after flash floods in Texas, as well as fires in California and Hawaii, highlighted the need for rapid, widespread notifications to save lives. For more information visit our FAQ page multco.us/em
