ODOT Bike Path Work Update

Construction update: Our contractor is continuing to install new curb ramps along the path and repair some segments of the path with significant tree-root damage. Weather permitting, late next week our contractor plans to grind (remove a layer of old pavement and prepare for new pavement) and repave the path. The grinding and paving activities will not occur on the same day. Path users should slow down, use caution and expect less than 20 minute delays when traveling in this area. Remember, please don’t enter the work zone for your safety.

Maywood Park Shared Use Path Work

Maywood-Park-Construction Construction has begun on the Maywood Park Shared Use Path paving project. Path users will encounter detours (shown below). The contractor will install new curb ramps and then pave the path. The detours will be signed and accessible to people with disabilities. We will be paving the path in sections to minimize the impacts to users. Each detour will remain for a brief time while that section of path is paved. For your safety, please do not enter the work zone. Local residents may see increased pedestrian traffic and hear noise during the day.

Maywood Park City-Wide Garage Sale

Maywood Park's Annual City-Wide Garage Sale will be held July 20 & 21 9am-4pm, and July 22 9am-2pm. If you are a resident who wishes to host a garage sale during this weekend, please turn in your application and fee by July 1.

Public Review: Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)

Residents of Maywood Park, Senate Bill 1051, which then passed, and was signed into law by Governor Brown on August 15, 2017 requires cities and counties of a certain population allow accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Consistent with the requirement of Senate Bill 1051, the City of Maywood Park is in the process of updating our zoning provisions to allow for the development of ADU within the City. A draft Ordinance numbered 9-D and titled “ADU DEVELOPMENT PROVISIONS-DRAFT" is attached and will be posted on the city’s website at under “Rules & Ordinances” between the dates of June 8, 2018 to July 16, 2018 for your review and comments.  You may contact the office to submit your comments at or in person at any upcoming City Council meeting.  A public hearing will be held at Mt. Hood Community College, rm. 305 at 7pm on July 16, 2018.

Budget meetings to determine budget spending for the 2018-2019 fiscal year will be held at Mt. Hood Community College, room 305 at 7pm on April 2nd and June 4th, 2018.

PBOT Open House re: 102nd Improvements

See Update Below: (5/14/18) The electronic survey is available on the 102nd Ave website now, as well as the slides  shared at the city council meeting. There is now data from two other projects where travel lanes were reduced from two lanes in each direction to one lane in each direction.  On both of these streets, peak hour traffic volumes were similar to the peak hour volumes on NE 102nd Ave.  There are two 4-page reports, one for Division St and one for Glisan St.  Additionally, there are two slides added to the slideshow online that summarizes how these projects impacted travel times, volumes, speeds and diversion.  The big take-away, according to PBOT,  is that there was no significant impact to travel time or volumes, but speeds did drop. For travel speeds southbound on 102nd Ave at Shaver- PBOT collected speeds using percentiles, meaning how many cars are going above a certain speed and how many are going below.  For reporting a typical travel speed on a corridor, PBOT usually report 85th percentile speed, which means that 85% of people are traveling at or below that speed and 15% are traveling above that speed.  PBOT took traffic counts on 102nd at Shaver starting on Wed, 11/15/17 at 2pm through Fri, 11/17/17 at noon.  The summary numbers are averages over the 24 hour cycle. - 85th percentile speed:  42 MPH - 65.4% of drivers are going over the posted speed of 35 MPH - 10% of drivers are going faster than 43 MPH - 16 drivers were going 57 MPH or faster - At the PM peak (4-6pm), most drivers were driving between 33 and 41 MPH) Additionally, use the following link to receive updates to project and send feedback: .
