The City of Maywood Park has been in contact with the Multnomah County Sheriff Office (MCSO) regarding Friday nights stabbing incident which occurred at 19:17 hrs. The incident occurred between the Gateway Transit Center and Maywood Park off the multi-use path.

While initially there was question of what jurisdiction the incident occurred within, GPS coordinates placed it just within the borders of Maywood Park which extend beyond the footbridge at the southern end of our city.

Our representative from MSCO confirmed that none of the three injured victims nor suspect taken into custom were residents of Maywood Park. It was also confirmed that there are no other suspects at large and there is no imminent danger to residents of Maywood Park or the surrounding community. All parties involved are in the hospital being treated at this time.

Volunteer Opportunities!

Budget Committee – Have you been looking for a way to volunteer in our wonderful city? Do you like numbers? We are looking for five residents to serve on this year’s budget committee along with the city council members. Volunteers would need to be available for the budget committee meeting on April 8th, 2019, and be willing to review the proposed budget and give input on how revenues are allocated for the 2019/2020 fiscal year in the City of Maywood Park. Contact Wendy Irwin, Treasurer, for further information at or leave a message at the City office

Easter Egg Hunt – Spring is coming…and that means Maywood Park’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt is around the corner! The Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 20th at 11:00 am located near the Commons (99th & Failing St.). You can help with donating cash or individually wrapped candy donations by bringing them to an upcoming city meeting before April 10th.  Also, on Thursday, April 11th at 7pm join us for an egg stuffing party! The day of the hunt, we will need volunteers to help hide eggs starting at 9:30 am at the Commons. Immediately after the hunt, there will be prizes given out to finders of special tokens, as well as a candy exchange table.
Contact Bonnie Davey or Sarah Castor for more details!
