In the twenty years that I have been a resident of Maywood Park not a day has gone by that I didn’t believe that this is a great place to live. The Fourth of July celebrations, garage sales and tree lightings are among activities that fill our lives with the sense of community that makes others jealous.
I believe that our existence as an independent city is what makes it all possible.
In addition it is the City that people can look to for assistance and solutions to problems. Some of these are beyond our control (for example, falling leaves!), while others require diligent attention and action from the City Council. Among these are:
– Continuing to monitor and search for more effective and economical methods of sewage disposal.
– Reaching final resolution regarding the use of the City owned property on Failing Street.
– Maintaining relationships with other agencies affecting our welfare, most notably the Multnomah County Sheriff’s office and Fire District 10.
– Determining and representing Maywood Park’s interest as “Gateway Green” progresses.
All of these, and more, will allow us to continue to improve the quality of life in the “City Within a City.”
After several terms on the City Budget Committee I was elected in 2012 to a two-year term on the Maywood Park City Council. I am now seeking your support for re-election. It is my desire to continue to serve you while being fiscally responsible and having some fun doing it.
I will appreciate your support and will never take it for granted.
