At last night’s city council meeting, several neighbors shared their ideas for how to use a $5K grant awarded to the city by OLC. The overwhelming focus was on creating a space for building community.

Residents on Shaver St. proposed Maywood Commons, a gathering space (located at the vacant lot at 9840 NE Failing Street) to strengthen our community, provide a safe and beautiful natural outdoor space for play and leisure, and host Molly the Trolley on a regular basis.

To learn more, please read the detailed proposal presented at the meeting. If you wish to share ideas and follow the progress of how the OLC grant money will be spent to improve livability in Maywood Park, please attend the first city council each month to join the discussion.
